Notes from BORU 2009

 · Yavuz Özgün, Vice President of Ihlas Holding; Bülent Demircioğlu, Chairman of ÇEBİD (Steel Pipe Manufacturers’ Association); Phillip G. Knight, Executive Secretary of ITA (International Tube Association); Mevlüt Vural, Director General of ISKI; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Yavuz Cabbar, Deputy Undersecretary of Industry and Trade Ministry of Turkey, realized inauguration of the fair after their speeches about the sector’s development.

· 19.829 professional visitors as foreign and local honored the 5th International Pipe and Fittings Fair.

· 5.The 5th International Pipe and Fittings Fair hosted 181 participant firms with a 14,000 square meters closed area.

· During the preparation of the fair, much research about the sector was made and 350,000 invitations printed and distributed.

· The fair has achieved to make a very wide visitor profile thanks to the effective promotion, and it entertained over 15 sectors.

· At the 5th International Pipe and Fittings Fair, total 59 foreign participants attended and 1,203 foreign guests were entertained.

· National and local all TV, radio, newspaper and sectorial publications followed closely the fair both before and later.

· In the Fair, seminars organized by IGDAS-UGETAM and the firms saw a great interest from visitors and especially municipalities.

· Major establishments such as KOSGEB, ISKI, IGDAS-UGETAM, DÇÜD, ÇEBİD and GESAD supported to the 5th International Pipe and Fittings Fair. International Tube Association (ITA), American Iron and Steel Institute, China Export and Import Association and as for overseas top periodical publications in the sector strengthened the fair and proved international successes.

Almost all of the Organized Industrial Zones supported the fair.
